I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the novice is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
